This week 2 to 8 October 2017, it’s Dyslexia Awareness Week. This year, the theme is Positive about Dyslexia. This is particularly important, because as with all other disabilities, people often perceive dyslexia as a negative thing.

May is a very busy month where awareness weeks are concerned. This week 15 to 21 May 2017 is deaf awareness week. So this post is all about deaf awareness.
This week 8 to 14 May 2017, is mental health awareness week. While it’s not directly linked to the work that we do, I thought as it is an often misunderstood and overlooked issue, that it is an important issue that is worth covering.
On 26th March, it is Mother’s Day. A day when people celebrate the role of mothers. A day when we recognise the contribution that these women make to our lives. There are many disabled women around the world who find ways to overcome their difficulties and still run happy families. So I thought it would be important to celebrate the lives of these women.
So, another travel related post. This time I wanted to talk about the people one meets on one’s travels, because as anyone with a disability that’s visual obviously will know, you find some interesting reactions.
