Welcome to the Aidis Trust blog. Here you’ll find our posts on assistive technology that are meant to inform and encourage discussion. Feel free to join in!
I’ve always loved art, which is often a surprising fact for people to learn about me. Being visually impaired, a lot of people wonder how I manage to enjoy something that is such a visual form of expression. I decided to write a blog about how I use technology and my own methods to get the most out of art.
I recently got a new iPad Mini as my birthday present (thanks Mum!). I thought I’d write a blog about how I use the iPad, how I access Apps and what it helps me to do that I couldn’t do before.
The Aidis Trust is looking for volunteer bloggers. If you are a disabled person or a carer and you want to share your opinion about disability and technology related issues here is the place to start.
The aim of this blog is to raise awareness about the electronic Assistive Technology that can help disabled children and adults in everyday life and to give a voice to disabled people and their carers, to share their experiences.
We’d love to hear how technology helps you or how that little bit of software makes all the difference. Please contact us at support@aidis.org or give us a call on our free helpline 0808 800 0009 (all enquiries) if you are interested in writing a blog.
I’ve always loved listening to music, watching music videos, and playing musical instruments and singing. Music is a big part of my family’s life and we all really enjoy it. As a visually impaired person, some elements of enjoying music are difficult for me. I thought I’d write a blog about how technology (and my Mum!) is helping me overcome these.
I love going on holiday and I go quite often, at least every couple of years. I thought I’d write a blog about how I plan and organise a holiday, what I use to access a holiday as a disabled person, any technology that helps me – and above all, how I have fun on holiday too!
